Baked Spinach potato Rolls / Pockets



  Spinach is a green used worldwide for its nutrients. It is a very good source of iron. There are many Indian recipes using this healthy green.
 Spinach has high nutritional value and is extremely rich in antioxidants . it is rich source of vitamin A , C ,E , K , B 2 , B 6, maganesium , manganese , folate , betaine , iron , folic acid ,calcium , potassium , copper , protein , zinc , selenium and omega – 3 fatty acids.
  I thought of baking a recipe using this wonderful green and made this spinach potato pockets.
Requirements :
Wheat flour – 2 cup
Ghee – 4 tbsp
Spinach – ½ cup
Potato (boiled) – ½ cup
Ajwain - half  tsp
Cumin – ¼ tsp
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Chilly powder – ½ tsp
Onion - 1
Oil – 1 tsp
Salt as required

Method :
Chop the onion.
Wash the spinach leaves and chop .
Mash the boiled potato.
Mix the wheat flour, ajwain ,salt and required water to make a firm and soft dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan , add the cumin seeds and let it crackle.
Add the chopped onion and sauté till transparent.
Add the spinach leaves and sauté for five minutes.
Add the mashed potatoes and sauté well.
Add the chilly powder , garam masala and salt and mix well.
Cook for two minutes and let it cool.

Take a small ball of the dough and press it into thin chappati , cut into half.

In one half , place the filling on one corner and roll it to the end , press the ends well to avoid , the filling comes out when baking.


















Repeat the same with the remaining dough.
Arrange all the rolls in the baking tray.
Brush the ghee on all the rolls.
Bake in the Preheated  oven for 20 minutes @ 220 degree Celsius or till the edges becomes brown.


Let it cool and serve.


Baked spinach rolls is ready to serve.
serve with tomato sauce / ketchup .

    hmm but i dont hv tray i wonderif i can put them on grill rack or shud i put them in cake tin to bake?
